Choirs in Amsterdam

No, a trial lesson is not possible for our choirs. We want to build repertoire with the group and allow our choirs to grow in sound and confidence. We like to facilitate this in a safe, relaxed atmosphere. This is not easily achievable if a new person frequently enters and exits the lesson.

A few times a year, we organize open choir lessons; these are one-time lessons with one of our teachers for anyone who would like to try out a choir lesson. In this lesson, you will experience what a lesson is like and what we work on. So, this is not a trial lesson in an existing choir.

Yes. Some choirs have more experience, have been singing together for longer, and are advanced. Other groups are mixed in terms of singing level, or have more beginners. After registration we’ll ask you what your experience is with singing (in a choir) and what your availability is.
Based on this, we will find a nice group for you together!

No, this is not possible.

No, that’s not a problem.
After each lesson, recordings are sent of the song that was worked on, as well as the separate recordings of the harmonies.
This way you can prepare at home for the next lesson.

If you already know in advance that you will not be able to attend many lessons, please indicate this in advance so that we can see together whether it is a good idea for you to participate in this series.

Yes, this is possible. In that case, we will let you know when a spot in the choir becomes available again from the next period onwards.

Some lessons are taught in Dutch and others in English. What people's preferences are is discussed in the lesson and this is always taken into account. Sometimes a lesson is partly in Dutch and partly in English so that everyone can follow along well.

Twice a year we organize a performance where you can perform the learned repertoire to friends and family. It is not mandatory to participate in this, but it is a lot of fun to work towards with your choir!

Sometimes it is possible to join a choir later. Please contact us if you would like to participate when the series has already started.

Yes, this is definitely possible. At the end of the lesson series, we ask the choir members if they want to continue in the choir. If you are already singing in the choir, your place in the choir is automatically reserved for the next series. Often a large part of the choir continues for the next period.

No, we do not provide choir lessons during school holidays.

Upon request, payment can be made in two installments.

If a teacher is sick or cannot teach the lesson, there is a substitute so that the lesson can continue.
In the unusual event that no substitute is available, the lesson will be held on another day.

Yes, we do exercises to improve your vocal technique. Because we sing a lot in the lessons, the stronger your voice and better your breathing will become.
